Approach
The Muslim in American Association is committed to educating the American people about the importance of the 1st Amendment. We come up with a series of informative and powerful posters that will target many who do not follow or practice the faith.
Problem
According to the FBI website which states, “This year’s report, which contains data from 14,997 law enforcement agencies, reveals 5,850 criminal incidents and 6,885 related offenses that were motivated by bias against race, ethnicity, ancestry, religion, sexual orientation, disability, gender, and gender identity.” These statistics show that America can not follow what our country was founded on and that is our proudly call our U.S. Constitution; The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition. It forbids Congress from both promoting one religion over others and also restricting an individual’s religious practices. It guarantees freedom of expression by prohibiting Congress from restricting the press or the rights of individuals to speak freely. It also guarantees the right of citizens to assemble peaceably and to petition their government.
Objective
Our goal is to stop the discrimination and prejudice against Muslim Americans.
Abstract
This association is in agreement in stopping violence, prejudice, and discrimination that is fueled by civil unrest and religious bias against people who follow and practice the Islamic faith by improving public understanding and policies that impact American Muslims through these posters.
Summary
For this Public Service Announcement project we want to create a series of powerful and moving posters that will educate the American People about the Muslim American Struggle since 9/11. We want to use women who practice the faith as gate way to the American people about they go through and hopefully expand the project to include “set family image”. We also want to make sure these posters are also educational by including important statics about Muslim Americans. Our target audience are middle age to retiring age Americans.
