One idea is to have the focus of the logo be a bat ray since they're commonly found in the Ballona Creek Estuary. The images generated below are getting at the idea somewhat, but I'd definitely appreciate your input/edits, and we'd also need to add the "Ballona Creek Watershed Management Group" text.
